Green Sam I Am
Not to left behind by its corporate sibling, Sam's Club is displaying its green credentials. And they're doing it a way that will probably make them a little money. They dedicated the front page and much of the content of the June / July issue of their store catalog to green ideas and products (front page pictured here). Among the many features in the magazine are instructions on recycling electronics, eating organic and having a more sustainable office. There are also profiles of green business customers of Sam's Club and, of course, an advertisement from GE for their compact fluorescent light bulbs.
This strikes me as a pretty good way to use an existing medium to sell more products by highlighting a company's green credentials. And it's a message that they support on their web site.
What company doesn't have some kind of consistent external communications piece that could be used in a similar manner?
