The votes are in and the topic for Blog Action Day 2009 is Climate Change. According to the Blog Action Day Blog, thousands of votes were cast
and (as of now) 3,737
will blog about climate change on October 15.
This blog, not surprisingly, is one of the 3,737 and you can see the Blog Action Day badge on the sidebar. Here's the video promoting the effort:
Along with blogs, Blog Action Day is embracing micro-blogging with a Twitter feed
and hash tag: #BAD09
. They also have a pretty decent list of partners
in the environmental space.
The Internet has always been a fertile place for discussion and organizing around protecting the environment. After all, the environment was the topic for the first Blog Action Day back in 2007. Now, with Copenhagen a few months later, the topic is still the environment, but the topic is more specific. What impact can those bloggers can have on this big an issue? We'll find out soon enough.
