Who are the good energy and environment communicators?

Tomorrow, I will chat with people who are looking for organizations that are doing the most innovative communications work on energy, the environment and climate change. They are particularly looking for the groups who have been successful in changing the conversation in ways that get people to take action on these important issues.

I thought I'd put the question out here and ask people to respond. What communicators or organizations are doing a good job in this area? Can you point me to some good examples? The Climate and Energy Project I blogged about comes to mind. Can you think of any others? Leave suggestions in the comments below.

I've found that the energy industry has been slow to feature some of the very robust and high-level thinking it has done in online venues. Legitimate hesitancy stemming from regulatory concerns, corporate policies and simple lack of familiarity with the outlets have limited participation.

I'm currently looking to feature the industry's best thinking as part of a new platform called AOL Energy, so I'm very interested in how this develops and in encouraging increased participation.

Incidentally, Blogspot automatically signed me in with an old online name above. In the interest of clarity rather than self-promotion, see more about me on Twitter @petergardett

I have been trying to get the word out using some online news outlets that allow me to post content (always moderated) directly to their sites. I'm talking about Patch, MNSun.org, Minnesota Today, MNSpeak, MinnPost, and KSTP's "Where You Live" section.

For those who don't know me, I'm the communcations director for the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest's Clean Air Choice program.

I tweet as "CleanAirChoice2"
